I spent my early 20’s following the typical checklist that we are all made to believe will lead to a joyful life. College…Career…Happiness. To my surprise, this checklist led to a colorless, monotone life. I had the career, but my life was lacking passion and enthusiasm. I was drowning in monotony and craving so much more! To discover the bliss that life has to offer, I broke free of the constraints and standards the world set for me! I relocated to Atlanta, GA for a fresh beginning, praying to discover what I wanted to do with my life and find who I really was.

I found myself…designing jewelry!

Designing and creating jewelry has shown me the value in being different and taking atypical paths. The beauty of who we are is because of our differences.   Like us, each piece is a one of a kind creation, no matter how similar they appear, no matter how much effort goes into trying to make them appear the same…no one piece is identical.

RawLuxe jewelry is made one at a time, by hand. Unique…perfectly imperfect like each of us.  My goal is deliberate imperfection…to stray from or avoid the “perfection” that machine- made jewelry affords. Although I may make many of the “same” ring, each one has a unique back story. I will never produce the same ring twice. It can be as simple as my mood being affected by the wrong Starbucks order, and it causing me to hammer the ring harder than the one made before it.  Each piece is given distinct individual attention made with feeling and purpose.

I design because of the freedom it provides; it’s almost as if the design process takes on a life of its own. I can let go and let the element guide me. I begin with a vision in mind. No matter how many sketches or how much planning I put into each piece of jewelry, there is always some unexpected idea or interesting path that I decide to take…or not. This multiplies the beauty and look of each piece of designer jewelry. Just as we are the sum of our experiences (many being unexpected), I believe that it’s those unexpected experiences that add to the beauty and exclusivity of our lives and our being.

I design because I always surprise myself in the end…
I design because it’s my therapy…
I design to reflect my beliefs and share my experiences…
